Letrozole is a Competitive Non-Steroidal Aromatase Inhibitor, much like Anastozole.   It will bind and block the Aromatase Enzyme. 

  Aromatase is responsible for converting Testosterone to Estrogen.   Letrozole's clinical purpose is to treat Estrogen dependent tumors in post menopausal women.

  Letrozole is extremely effective at suppressing Estrogen levels in tests.   Clinical trials have shown 0.5mg to suppress 78% of Estrogen.   A little goes a long way, as you can see.   For research purposes, it is best to ascertain the lowest effective dose.
